We may be a bit past peak but there is still some color to be seen in and around Two Harbors! Stop by our RJ Houle Information Center to pick up a fall color map!As fall's colors wind down, there is one final show - the unique tamarack tree. Its needles turn to bright colors and eventually drop. In northeast Minnesota, this occurs in late October, after the other trees have turned color and dropped their leaves. Taking a drive inland from the shore of Lake Superior on one of several roads - Lake County Road 2, Highway 1, the Gunflint Trail, or our favorite, the Stony River Forest Road, will reward you with tamaracks!
